Expanding Our Capacity

While capacity can expand organically in response to competitive demands – or be expanded intentionally as part of training or skill development in a specific area – building a stronger Operating Framework is the best way to expand our capacity and the capacity of our teams more quickly, consistently; ahead of external demand and beyond a specific initiative or performance target.

One of the main requirements of leading high-performing teams is to continually expand our capacity. As leaders we want to expand the capacity circle of both our own capacity and the capacity of our teams. To do this we have to begin to build the Operating Framework that will lead to its expansion, and then actually drive its expansion over time. We want to look at the most critical elements in our Operating Framework that are keeping us from performing at the edge, and move them out of the way so that our capacity can expand. Another way to say this is we want to get our Operating Framework working for us, rather than against us in our effort to expand our capacity...
